The Earth Hums in B Flat by Mari Strachan: Book Review

I have just read the most beautiful book since probably reading 'Falling Angels' by Tracy Chevalier. The book is set in a small Welsh town, and we follow a young girl called Gwenni Morgan, who can fly in her sleep, views the world in her own beautiful innocent way and asks too many questions. It is a story of a girl trying to understand the way the world works around her and through doing it, uncovers secrets hidden in the little town, including secrets about her own family. The book is such a wonderful read, Mari Strachan has an amazing way of putting words together so they seem almost magical, and it really captures the childish innocence of young Gwenni. I loved every minute of reading this book and would definitely recommend this to anyone. It's especially good if you're looking for something a bit different, it isn't a love story or a crime investigation, but there are hints of both but from a childs viewpoint which makes it truly beautiful!
My Rating:
5/5 - I loved reading this and kept wanting more.
